Olympic Torch Relay through Royal Greenwich

Our local Torchbearers

» View pages in this section

On Saturday, 21 July 2012, Torchbearers proudly carried the Olympic Flame through Royal Greenwich.

The London 2012 Torch Relay started at the Meridian Line at the Royal Observatory and passed iconic local landmarks including the Old Royal Naval College, the newly re-opened Cutty Sark ship, The Tudor Barn and the Royal Artillery Barracks.

The Relay also passed two of our local venues which are hosting Olympic and Paralympic sporting competitions this summer - Royal Greenwich Park (Equestrian and Modern Pentathlon) and The Royal Artillery Barracks (Shooting and Paralympic Archery).
